After spending most of yesterday transfixed by the letterbox a real life copy of The Black Project finally dropped through. Here’s a little peek inside….

The official release date is the 12th September, all the info, plus details of how to pre-order can be found on the Myriad website.

For those of an impatient disposition they’ll be a couple of opportunities to get your hands on an advanced copy. Firstly they’ll be at the Edinburgh International Book Festival where myself and the incredible Hannah Berry will be having a good old chat about our work in an event entitled ‘Modern Gothic Graphic Novels’. It’s all part of the comicscopia that is Stripped tickets available here.

Secondly watch this space for details of The Black Project Launch and accompanying Exhibition, which promises to be as strange and disturbing as the Black Project itself.

In the meantime take a moment to whet your appetite with this glowing endorsement from Man at the Crossroads Paul Gravett, which he published on his blog last week, naming The Black Project his pick of September releases.

“….a landmark, once read, not easily forgotten. At times, you won’t quite believe what you are reading and seeing, all executed in embroidery and lincouts, four years in the making. Exquisite, excruciating and exceptional.”
